Check Out "Dr. Horrible"!

Hey, I'm a HUGE Joss Whedon fan: Buffy, Angel, Firefly (Serenity), et al. One of my favorite Buffy episodes is the musical one, "Once More With Feeling". In a small way this reminds me of it. Click below and enjoy!

Sometimes ...

Yes, I'm an insomniac. It is a problem, but I'm trying not to lose any sleep over it!

In Memoriam: "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"

This beautiful combination of two classic songs, sung with great soul by the late Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, is dedicated to the memory of Tim Russert.

K-Drama Highlight: "Na Bbuen Sa Ram"

The tragically beautiful "Hwang Jin Yi" is one of my favorite K-Dramas. I especially liked the music in this one. This song is also known as "Bad Person".

First Transmission: Stage One

Welcome to my blog. I'm an African-American educator who has very eclectic tastes in art, music, entertainment, food and people. As a citizen of the world, I try not to be judgmental, but I certainly have my opinions. I never seek to offend. I adhere to the credo that "We must become the change we want to see." I want to see a world that is less filled with hatred, cruelty and violence. As a teacher, I try to impress on my students the importance of appreciating our differences rather than using them as weapons against each other.
I'm very proud of my African-American heritage and the strength and courage of my forebears. In addition, I have also have an overwhelming interest and affinity for Asian culture. Even as a very young child, I felt a very strong connection to Japan, India and Korea. Most recently my main focus has been to learn all I can about Korean history and culture, which is not especially easy since I really don't know any Koreans except through very limited business contacts. But I am not discouraged, I read about Korean culture, watch Korean movies and dramas regularly, and do research on the Internet for more information. I even have an extensive collection of Korean recipes and have made quite a few tasty dishes. I hope one day to walk on the soil of my African ancestors, as well as the lands of Korea, Japan and India.
